The bit that matters
Will your boots pass a gate check?
S3 means a protective midsole plate as well as the toe cap, and a water resistant upper. S3L and S3S are the same thing under the 2022 revision. A boot that only says "steel toe" states none of that, and a gateman who asks is within his rights to turn you away.
Every boot in here states its rating on its own Amazon listing. We read them one at a time. If a listing ever stops saying it, the boot comes out.
